Default Dennis Is At It Again

i dont know how many people just hide out in this room so i thought i would post it.

I would like to bring youre attention to dennis's Project post

https://passionford.com/forum/showth...=206048&page=8

He is clearly stating that he has had 550 HP at the Flywheel with a t38 turbo.

Am i missing something here but i thought this was just humanly not possible.

he is actually saying that he thinks he will break the 600 hp figure with that turbo. Now i know i am not dennis 's biggest fan anyway so maybe i am just blinkered

So i ask is this possible?

And is there any proof that it is definately not possble.

I mean why pay all that money for a gt35 when you can buy a standard T38 and produce 600HP

Please bear in mind he did build my mostrosity of an engine that martin will vouch would never of done what he quoted it would.

Would be good to hear the more respected tuners views on this.

I always thought a T38 was a 450bhp turbo personally?

Apparently because he high comp and his head flows 28% better or something it means that he gets 550hp out of his t38

Sounds far fetched.

Mike has offered him a race lol.

It doesn't matter how efficient he has made the engine.. the turbo will only FLOW so much air.. the better the engines VE, the lowest boost is required to flow the same amount of air.. a T38 will not flow that much air, end of, simple.

Frankly it's not looking good against TDI's reputation if their hub dyno is giving out such absurd figures.

I looked at his thread the other day and noticed his quoted figures but didn't mention anything as I thought maybe it was a T4 inside!! Now I notice he say's it is standard spec

Question for Dennis... What colour is the sky on the planet you're on ??

Hopefully i will get the opertunity to see just how powerfull 550 hp t38 is in a bit of 0-60 run...

Well said Rs Steve. Can anything be dynod at youres martin or is it just fords? i ask as im going to be in youre neck of the woods in two weeks and still not had the car on the dyno.

the thing is i think his spec is not far from what he built for me martin so the figures are very impressive.

is it completely impossible because in all the who harr of my build he said oh everyone will tell you its not possible with youre setup and the way youre engines built but they are prehistoric tuners.

The future is different and youre engine will produce the power you want.

His engine certainmly is producing the power if the dyno is reading correctly.

But i think projecting 600hp on a T38 is the icing on the cake isnt it?

Default t38

harvey told me a t38 maxed at 460ish ? would need a t4 or a gt35 to make that sort of power ,, a t38 is going on my new road car engine great little turbos..

This Dennis has a bad rep, cant be good for business. As for that engine he built for you, well that was nothing short of a joke really. Thankfully after much effort and commitment its all looking good now.

WOW i am popular !!! LOL

anyway... as it seams there's some confusion.. let me help...

first the Roto test dyno i tested the car on is very accurate.. and calibratable.. if i put 100nm on the pack it will see 100nm or 500 or 1000.. what ever i put on it, it will ACURATELY READ..

testament to this, as some my be aware, i am in employee of Torque Developments, and we do various power verifications for motorsport. ( where before being allowed to race the competitors need to come to be power tested ) anyway i have tested cars to within 0.5 BHP form the dyno cell to random spot tests, track side.

anyway back to my project.. the figures i have achieved are what they are, i have nothing to hide or prove. My car is my pride and built for me, for fun.. nothing more.. nothing less..

Please note that the pressure trace in in absolute... and that I'm unhappy with the surge at 4.5K and will be dealing with this when i get the time..

420bhp isn't the 550bhp mentioned at the start of this thread? What are your thoughts on this Dennis?

just want to add, that the 550 number was a guide to fly figures as any,one who has read my post will understand, as my readings are HUB figures and fly will vary with losses.

as for more, well i have done testing with E85, and seen 40 ish bhp gains. so if anyone has done tests with the YB to this spec on E85, and found differently. Your views are welcome..

Night night...

Who has a 4x4 Cossie that has had the engine dyno'd on a proper dyno and then had it rolling roaded or hub dyno'd what were you ACTUAL losses?

Dennis- So are you saying that by magic E85 allows you to produce more power even though the airflow is the same?
