I wouldn't buy these any other way, as they're not a particularly strong wheel, so buying second hand is a BIG risk, and you're likely to buy someone's buckled cast-offs....

 

The only difference with buying new is that the outer edge of the wheel is stamped engel,, pls dont let this put you off, because as mike says your usually buying someones cast offs as there such a weak wheel

As per my PM, these wheels are EXACLY the same as Rondells, the likelihood of you finding a truely mint set of Rondells is remote at best.......

in what way? the finish? thought they used all the same moulds?

 

I've had both and in my opinion the Engells are better than Rondells

 

My engells were mint and the finish was spot on..............nice sparkle to the paint in the sun

 

The current engels are actually made by Rondell as they bought back the mold, but due to costs etc they have kept the engel mold with the engel logo?

The quality of the Engells is absolutely spot on, maybe the ones you saw had had a bad refurb??

how can the use the same mouldsif they have engel on them not rondell

 

presumably it wouldnt be too hard to alter the logo on an orig mould rather than spending a fortune making a complete new mould?

 

As Nick says, it's far cheaper to modify the original mould than it is to make a complete new mould just for the sake of a logo.

IIRC the original Rondell mould broke, so it wouldn't have been too much hassle to re jig it to encorporate the Engell logo whilst it was being fixed.
