Smile Saphire Shell

Hi there people
Unfortunately i went for the dreaded mot on thursday (lukily it passed) but was told that it will need some work doing underneath and showed me where, not saying it needs much but if i do it, it will look like a patchwork quilt under there so my other option is to re-shell it, but i was wondering just out of curiouserty is a standard saph shell the same as the cossie saph or is there any structural differences between them?.
Any help or suggestions would be appritiated.

I was always told on here and have no reason to doubt that the shells are all the same

Cheers for that
I always thought theat they were the same but wanted to just check for sure, also i know when you build a kit car if you use a certain percentage of one doner vehicle you are allowed to use that vehicles identification but when you re-shell a car do you have touse the doner shells identification.

cossie shells have no un needed holes on the chassis legs to make them stronger..

get one up in the air and have a look ,,

i am after a shell at the moment and i want a proper cossie on the log book not an 18l unless you are after cheaper insurance ..

and you have to think of re-sell value imho

Surely it wont look to bad if its done properly.Must be easier than a reshell surely unless its totally fucked

take it to a specialst restorer who could weld in full panels, that would be an easier and maybe cheaper option than reshelling it.

The proper cossie shells are supposed to be stronger, Im not sure in what way, you'd bebest chatting to ford or a ford/sierra specialist.
