They were cast in Turkey from a slightly different quality iron.....
They are usually perfect upto about 450Bhp but due to inconsistent casting processes there have been failures below this level

No not mine, I saw a new one for sale at Ł700 had it not been a turkish would have been a bargin

At least for the rich boys theres the millington blocks and the cosworth alloy blocks

They are in production as we speak, there will soon be new 200 blocks available from stock.....
They aint gonna be cheap though unfortunately, but a whole lot cheaper than alloy ones that`s for sure

I really think that this is blown out of proportion!
I was running 550 bhp in my block and the reason it failed wasnt becuase it was a 99 one.

99 blocks good to 600bhp without a problem. MADAde uses a high mileage 99 Block with 650+bhp with no probs thus far. The 2 High profile Block failures at MAD were pushing a new 99 Block past 650bhp. For 99% of applications im sure its OK.

if there not making them out of cgi then some1 at cosworth needs shooting!
What are they doing about deck hight aswell?? I rember reading somewere that they were going 2 cast them with a much higher deck hight??
