Default Losing oil, help!

Quick question, the crank case pressure is building up and blowing oil from the sump(its had a new one to try solve this but still does it now and its properly sealed when it goes back on), now what would cause this? the oil cap is coming off, but its not coming off with high pressure, and when you take it off, it still runs! Oil pissed out the d/v when driving and dropping down to 3rd from 4th....

Piston rings gone?

Excessive crank case pressure is normally rings. Oil pissing out the D/V is normally turbo seals on the compressor side or maybe the oil is coming from the rocker cover to turbo inlet pipe (if its still connected)?

Defo coming out of the sump, can it see when the engine was running on a ramp, hence why it got changed, but its still coming from it

The oil coming from the d/v wasn't excessing, but was mentioned so just wondered.

Does you sump use a gasket then? I just used sealant on my sump on my SR20 (S14).

What do you mean about the oil cap? The engine should still run when it is off.

I thought if the rings were knackerd it would smoke, I would check the breather.
Generally when the oil cap comes off it will die, if its MFI. Mines been coverted
to EFI and will run fine without the cap.

Only other things that can cause the pressure. Head gasket, turbo oil seals and valve stem seals.

Might be a long shot but on series 2's they have an oil return drain bolted to the block next to the main cap. This helps drop the oil further into the sump. Now (ive seen this happen) if you put a new sump on which isnt a S2 item (non turbo ones dont have the hole in the baffle plate) then the baffle blocks this pipe up and dont let the oil drain quickly enough into the sump from the turbo and will cause the symptons you state.

But in all honesty its probably rings!
