I am about to do the same. This is the knowledge I have gleaned so far:

The fuel filter will require M14x1.5 fittings at either end. On the assumption that you are using -6 hose, you will need banjo fittings that can connect to that size of hose. Then just run the hose to your fitting on the fuel rail, which should be silver soldered to the rail. If you want to keep costs under control, you may decide to just use hose finishers (jubilee clip type) for the return.

I hope that goes some way to answering your question.

Best of luck.

cheers mate that is exactly what i was thinking, i thought of blanking the normal inlet to the fuel rail off by cutting it off and welding a little blanking plate over the hole, then i assume i will open one end of the fuel rail up and weld a threaded union into it to be able to connect the braided line fitting to ? as for the return i will use the same hose for looks and just jubilee clip the ends as there not under that much pressure i dont think.
