Unhappy Anyone else very badly affected by the credit crunch?

I have worked as an electrician for about 7 or 8 years now, in the past 6months I`ve only been in full time employment for 2 months. I keep moving from firm to firm until they run out of work. I have been doing my own homers and helping out relatives who give me a small wage but its not even making up half my wage I was getting. Any jobs you do apply for, even if its not electrical, there is literally thousands of people in for it so its very hard to get work. I have a mortgage and with christmas coming up my savings are going fast! To top it all off I`d been saving for ages for an rs turbo, even though I just got married six months ago which cost a fortune, I had 5 grand saved to buy an rs but as soon as I started looking I lost my job. When is this going to end? Just wanted to let off some steam, hope hear some replies.

Heart goes out to you chaps.

My mates in the same position. His misses has just given birth to their first child then he gets laid off (worked as a banksman/odd job man on site).
He was on good money too which makes it al the worse having the rug pulled out from under him.

Yeah it is effecting everyone, if you've not lost your job you have to put up with a higher cost of living. If you've lost your job you have to put up with the higher cost of living. Everyone has been effected if you look at it that way.

People are still spending money thou, lucky for me we do a lot of work for public sectors so while it has dropped of no one is getting made redundant.
