had a call for a recovery, oldish couple at the hospital car wont start. so off i trot recover them home, get to there house massive bloody hill. have to stop and unload just up from there house, remove straps drop spec a tad, put handbreak on car, drop spec down to ground and off rolls the car, down a main hill, good 60 yards up curb and straight into a wall

it rolled off slowely i ran to rear tried to stop it for 20 yards or so then gave up, would of been a ultimate movie for tv viewing lol

how fookin embarissed and gutted am i, all the years ive been doing it this is a first, yes i know should of put it in gear, i couldnt of wished for a nice couple, very understanding, helpfull and felt sorry for me.

im sooooooo lucky the car didnt hit another car or even worse a person, the road bent and it went up curb hit rear corner on wall and span around to a stop, proper write off.


i couldnt quite believe it but they wanted to still pay me the recovery fee !!! which i declined

luckily he slipped in was trying to sell the car and garage offered him 500 in px for it. i gave them all insurance details etc then went home, had a think using me head and called them up and offered them the choice of 500 cash or they can go through insurance they accepted

spose in one way they have had car sold and not had the bill of repairing the non start fault so there happy but jesus christ it could of been so much worse, im 500 quid light and the proud owner of a wrote of 1999 saab 9-3


atleast i can scrap it and get somin back or try ebay some parts

Whip the cat off, should get a fair few quid scrap for it. Flog wheels and tyres on ebay if any good, and weigh the rest of it in!

 

yer i plan to sell a few bits off it on the bay if i can get anyting back towards my 500 quid loss all the better. just wished i had it on video id earn a fortune selling it to you been framed etc

I would have thought you'd easily get your Ł500 back breaking it up as it looks quite tidy.

 

That's done quite a lot of damage Shame because it looked clean before. Hopefully you can break it and break even.

i filled in the logbook as scrapped for the old chap and put it in envelope for him to post so numberplates a no go

get on the phone to any saab breakers, see what they will offer, when a drunk driver wrote my audi a4 off I got to keep the salvage and got over twice the ammount normal scrappie would have paid and my Audi was older

Mine's G47 TTU, we call it Desmond (after the TTU bit).
I used to have YLJ 999Y which would have been cool for a copper.

I never imagined either would be worth anything though.

Ring 2 Stroke Motors in Cambridgeshire, I'll have to get a number for you but they are a Saab specialist and they have LOADS of old cars so I suspect they might be interested in buying it.

However as its just rear damage I'd personally break it up and sell it on the bay, guaranteed to make more than Ł500, infact you might even double your money.

As someone else said it did look like a nice car, glad nothing more was injured than your pride
