After getting my van back from a suspected gearbox failure, was just that the driveshaft had come out, as it had just had the crankshaft oil seal replaced.

Anyway got it back but when I was driving it home the Heater plug warning light came on, van continued to run fine but light was on. when i turned the engine off and then on again the light had gone out. Could this be big trouble looming?

Thanks for any replies. i hate this van might just sell it, but what do i buy that wont potentially be as much trouble?

 

well mate i have had transits that after 5 years and 200k miles have only had a diesel pump,alty and regular servicing,tyres etc.

on a prima star doesn't the light come on for the glow plugs when it starts going cold ??
best thing about a tranny is they are so popular you can get cheeper spares new and second hand,and find someone who can fix your van easier

I've ran a couple of Mercedes Vito's and now run a VW Transporter. If you decide to go with a new van, forget the Vito, mine were terrible. The Transporter is awesome, never ever let me down and I do about 50-60k miles per year. Solid vans and nice interior. Mines been remapped too so its pretty quick.

The only thing that has ever let me down was the alarm once but thats because it has too many damn functions on it. This was also an aftermarket jobbie.
