I think it's about £250 at the minute - I know we cut all non-ferrous prices by 50% on friday lunchtime.

eh? I work with aluminium every day, and take loads for scrap and getting £900 per tonne.

Steel is virtually worthless at the moment though, sub-£100 per tonne

When was the last time you took some in, as prices noise dived over the last couple of weeks?

Thursday

As for steel, I got £75/ton for just a few bits and pieces I weighed in, but that's going back about 4 weeks now

I don't have one, but I can assure you that was the rate.

I only weighed in a few offcuts and a small bucket of swarf this time (usually have more in damages, but there weren't any this time round, and it's weighed in every 2 weeks regardless of quantity), but it's been at £900 for the past 6 weeks, and it was £1000 before that.

Just looked on the "Lets Recycle" website, and the most up-to-date price on there is £850/tonne still
