Default Steel Rods and ARP bolts

Do you tourqe the ARP con rod bolts up the same as the Haynes manual says for stanard type bolts??

It says:

Stage 1: 13LB/Ft
Stage 2, 90 degree turn.

This is for a 2.0 zetec.

Matt.

I thought ARP go by 'stretch' and not torque settings?

here is thier PDF file from thier web site www.arp-bolts.com

http://www.arp-bolts.com/pages/tech/images/rod_bolt.pdf

Maybe your part number can be cross referenced.

Infact they show for a 2.0 zetec with a 9mm rod bolt a torque of 36ft/lb with thier lubricant which has a stretch of 0.0049 inch.

1.8 zetec with a 8mm bolt 26ft/lb and 0.0050 inch. stretch

always use thier lube with thier fasteners
