as above really, what are the benefits of running a low compression engine in a s2 erst as apposed to a standard compression one ?

benifit - you can run more boost

drawback - less off boost drivability

 

whys that ? would you actually notice it though ?

Any other benefits apart from being able to run more boost such as less chance of det etc....

Yep, you can run more boost & ignition advance before the onset of det.

As far as the off boost driveability goes, if it's all set-up well there aint THAT much difference but I suppose that would depend on how low you went.

 

I honestly cant realy notice the difference of boost, The car picks up and drives cool, V good for a lasy driver like me
