hdmi cable with a ps2?

just purchased a brand new 37 inch hd tv and its the dogs

now i know with the playstation 3 to obtain better graphices you use a hdmi cable, just wondering can you use this with a ps2?

Too newer technology for the old ps2.

Even if it worked it wouldnt improve much because the ps2 is so dated anything will look crap compared to a ps3
