Kinda guessed that m8, i aint driven a T4 cossie so im expecting some lag, was woundering if the extra power would be worth it or not.

Steve

Ps. it will be a roller bearing core type if it helps.

I have never diven a RB core version so i cant comment sorry bud.

When the turbo gains full boost depends on loads of things like cams and mapping etc. I had full boost with mine just before 4k rpm but only reving to 7.2k, thats a very old skool T4 and Greys set up.

Other T4 cars wont get full boost till 4.5k but rev to 8k. Like i said it depends on spec really.

You shouldn't get any additional power really (without seriously compromising reliability).. an RS500 T4 is flat out at 480bhp on a YB and going above this just reduces its service life.

afaik if the gases cant escape it will get boost creep as turbine will be getting to much air and trying to raise the boost. surge is boost air flow that has nowhere to go.

Would it really increase lag though? I would have though that wouldn't really be affected. I would think boost threshold would move up the rev range though? But surely the time to boost while inside the boost threshold wouldn't alter all that much?

Feel free to call me a cunt if I'm wrong

I was refering to threshold Rab, the reason i didnt put lag was because alot people understand threshold as lag.

Depends what you mean by a T4. If you mean an RS500 turbo, its pointless.

If youmean a different turbo all together, as there are millions of T4s in the world, there may be a good point to it.

Flat-out being what it's rated for.. ask your dad about how the 50 and 57 trim compressors vary!
