I bought this one from Asda for Ł99.99 over two years ago.

Cant rate it highly enough it has been totally faultless . Only annoying things are that you cant search for programmes by name and can be a bit slow loading when you are looking a few days ahead to record something. For the price i havent seen one better

As above really, but I have the Digihome version, bought from Argos for the same price. Can't fault it either has been faultless and is an excellent solution for those who dont want to pay for Sky and Sky Plus, can pause live TV, record whilst watching another program etc... Brilliant for the money

The HD on mine only spins up if you ask it to, like when you set a programme to record, access your recorded programmes or look at what you have set to record.

It does make a little bit of noise on the intial spin up but other than that i can only really here it running if its the dead of night and i have the volume really low on the tele.
