I'm getting consistantly 35+MPG with around 310bhp on a run!

Edit to add, I can piss 350+ Miles to a tank even with some 'spirited' motorway driving! This is better than my E36 328i BMW on a combined tank of fuel!

Wow I must be lucky. Have done 1500 miles this year with around 450 bhp (408 at the wheels) in my rs500. On my runs and when I've kept my cool I've had better consumption that with my standard 2wd saff! Its down to PJ motorsport I guess, he asked if I wanted good cruising economy when he was mapping the car. Last run I got 37 mpg so I am even happier having read this lot. My saff manages around 33- 35 at best.

Boot it and I've dropped to 14mpg - but that run included 5 laps of Silverstone. 65 ish is off turbo most of the time so thats where I drive when I want to conserve fuel.

450 bhp is 408 atw? so that means theres a transmission loss of less than 10%?

I got from my first full tank 385, but that was mostly local stuff and some small blasting.
I gained 140 miles to a tank after remap as well as 30bhp at 3psi less, glad more than ever now I went aftermarket ecu.
That's on HIGH setting, don't know about LOW setting but would obviously be more.

I've managed to cain a full tank in my stage 3 escos in 100 miles but it's normally around 200 miles. Might have something to do with the prehistoric bayjoo chip or so i've been told.

If driving it very hard well under 20 mpg, infact it can be down around single figures.

On the motorway at a steady 70-80 off boost I've had 33-35. Pretty good really.

Think someone needs to go back to school 385 miles to a tank after remap on new ecu easily, but boring avarage nearer 320/340 as didn't buy it not to use it.
385/12 = 32MPG.

your previous post stated 385 from a tank and that you got an extra 140 after a remap
385+140 = 525

Why buy a performance car and worry about the fact the fuel tank leaks? Same thing isnt it?

You would have to be extremely rich AND stupid to actually WANT to spend money on fuel you didnt have to.

Apart from that, filling with petrol is one of my hates in life, such dead time, such a waste. i really hate it.

this is true BUT how many people actually stop and think shit i hope my 500 bhp cossie does 38 to the gallon , my point is economy isnt the first thing on the list or requirements when buying a tuned car but mabey rises up the list when the sinking feeling hits after spending a fortune on rebuilds ect

with our fuel costing upwards of Ł4 a litre then yes im very interested in NOT wasting fuel, you might as well chuck Ł40 in the tank and just give Ł40 to cashire as a tip

no excuse for poorly running causing excess consumption.

if your using more than is required then its poor running, nothing but serious in here, i personally dont like to piss money away, maybe you do ? good on you if you have enough to do so.

and as for the cossie that is good on fuel when used in anger, heres a small example for you, my last rally car, when on stage mapped by a well known mapper would return me approx 5mpg, after a change in mapper, and a totally differant map, same spec, i would then return nearer 10mpg, i call that a great improvement, and can only therefore sumise that my last map was incorrect hence poor running, you may not feel the effects of poor running, only on your wallet by the sounds of it

Jay, your arguments poor. Do you think F1 cars get used hard? Yes, me too, and they are the number 1 innovator in fuel saving mapping tecniques and gadgets.

We also know that they CAN afford to throw it away if they wanted to.... lol
