I can't see the point in rubber mounting something that was not designed to be that way. These shifters are a little noisy. I bonded all the lower console together from behind and that stopped any vibration I had. My shifter is mounted with only the skinny little gasket that Ford originally fitted and I have no problems.

Put rubber between it and you give it the chance to move and take away some of the positivity the B&M gives you.

Mine was really anoying me so i made a rubber gasket from a sole of a mans shoe ( a new thin rubber stick on sole, not a used 1) uesd the ford gasket as a template, works a treat.

Mine is bolted with the metal plate directly to the car no gasket at all, and its fine.

OK, so this is 4 tap washers between the shifter and the body of the car?

How about water getting into the car? Or are you saying that the positive boost pressure keeps the water out?
