Default turbo propellor nut CAME undone

on my m8's T4 this morning made a right mess . can this happen alot Is it a case of checking the shaft nut every so often(so many thousand miles)

i thought they were left hand threaded for the nut on the compressor on the shaft? if so, it should tigthen onto itself the faster the shaft rotates?

not in std trim mate if not they normally snap the shaft

Thats why most/all performance turbos have left hand threaded shafts, to stop that happening, all it could do is get tighter and tighter then.

I take it this was a std T4 then?

Kieths T34 turbo did this aswell...fooked the whole thing!

one of my T2's did this, the shaft came loose, bent and jammed, made a pretty white cloud
