Thats why most/all performance turbos have left hand threaded shafts, to stop that happening, all it could do is get tighter and tighter then.

one of my T2's did this, the shaft came loose, bent and jammed, made a pretty white cloud

Is it a case of checking the shaft nut every so often(so many thousand miles)
