Default M6 toll question/help

Saturday will be going from Surbiton (SW London), to Oswestry (Shrewsbury).
Multimap takes M6 toll then M54.
Anyone know if I will hit the toll part, and if so how much is it?
Went up couple years ago and didn't pay, so not sure there!
I've planned it to go M42 towards Bromsgrove, A448 Kidderminster, A443 Bridgnorth, then A458 Shrewsbury.
Not knowing these roads don't know if this is likely to add on the 20 mins multimap says it will?
I know my tomtom tries to take you motorway at all costs!
Thanks for any help

take the toll road, it's SOOOO much better that slumming it through birmingham

if you are in a car it's going to cost either Ł3.50 or Ł4.50 but you can properly spank it along the whole stretch if you want

cuts out a huge ammount of time

Best bet is to come up the M40 the go M42 North and take the M6 northwest or M42 South and M5/M6 North West to the M54.

I wouldn't bother with the M6Toll it will take you way out of your way and then when you get to the other end you have to fuck about on A roads to get onto the M54 anyway. Plus on a Sunday you wont have any trouble with Traffic and there are no road works on the section you want to travel on at the mo.

The A roads you talk about are all fun interesting roads but if you get stuck behind somet it will piss you off.

Hope this helps.

Well it was in operation last time I was up, but didn't seem to hit it??
ALternative route is shorter, but is time consuming enough as it is...

Scrap that, there's 2 M6's looking closer, the one I take isn't marked as toll, lol

Shings - Just spotted that, hard to make out at first with all writing on the page of town names etc

Not going down A roads, just changed from an M3 to a passat tdi, not much overtaking to be had there!

Cheers!

Honest mate as above - take the M6 toll. Used it today (for the millionth time) as I went to Liverpool. Ł4.50 each way and worth ten times that for the agg it saves

Can see from that I don't need to, take the old (I presume) M6.
Couldn't see until I zoomed in, is under the highlighted route bit!

theres PROOF of cancer,,,, most people know personally 3 seperate people who have died from it, i know 7 people

speeding on the M6 toll,,, no cars on the road so no way of getting caught,,,, though saying that ive also done a average of 140 for most of england and also never got caught before

That's not so bad is it?
Last time was from Poole, took about 6 hours, loads of rain and traffic, was depressing

i do the trip almost weekly from south east london up to Crewe.

i only use the M6 Toll if im getting to that area at a bad time of day, and id certainly not bother using it on a saturday atall

if i were you id head up the M40, then take the M42 westbound towards the M5, head north on the M5 for about 10 mins until you join the M6 and then just follow it on until you reach the M54.

nice and easy mate.

i was averaging from Jct 8 M25 to Crewe (M6 Jct 16) in just shy of 2h 45m.

Multimap has me going other way round Brum mate?
20 miles on M6 instead of 6, rest on M5.
Don't know the area at all.
No real difference from that to way you suggest.

it flows quicker, has no speed camera's, and iss much quicker even tho its a few miles more.

as said, ive made that trip in both directions each week for almost 2 years now, so ive kinda worked out were the traffic hot spots are and which routes to take on which days.

its up to you mate, but id most definatly go the way i mentioned!!
