Default Insurace Write Off With Pics

OK guys, this will be a write off, but what value should i be looking for from the Insurance company to get the Mrs a replacement RST S2????

It was in pretty good condition, body wise maybe not mint, and the engine /turbo was fine no smoke or tapping at all, but she had 127k

You input would be appreciated.

Here's the pick for those who missed them posted by my son.

Will that get her another though?

Looking in the mags they seem to be 2k - 2.5k, unless we get a shed!!!!

it would get another of the same spec....

2k-2.5k would get a lot lower mileage and tidy bodywork and probably mods as well.

The only people who win are the evil insurance companies, don't matter if you ain't at fault, you still lose out

I reckon they will offer you 1500 quid!
There are loads of rst's about for under 2k so if you are prepared to look at a few sheds to find a decent one then you should be ok!
Tell the ins co that you would like to keep the car, so you can break it, which will be 10% of the agreed value

As I said in the last post about this. Do not be afraid to argue I raised the offer for our XR2i from just Ł700 and to Ł2500 by argueing with the insuarnce company. It did take a while but we got what we wanted. Start to gather piccies and adverts of similar cars. List the cost of the mods on the vehicle. Simply do not be afraid to tell them they are taking the p155.

They will make you an offer based on the Glass's guide so I would guess they will make a first offer of just over Ł1000. Don't mess about when you receive the first offer. Phone them back and tell them what you think of their offer and what you fel you should be offered. If you don't get satisfaction threaten to take the case to the insurance obusman. It was at this point we received the payout we wanted.

Good luck.

We weren't allowed to have the XR back. We were told they were not legally allowed to let us have the wreck. The car is now in Baldock having been purchased from Universal Salvage for a pitance. I miss that car

When my bro's car was smacked up the bum early last year they sent him a cheque for Ł1200 and told him it was his responsability to dispose of the wreck.

An arguement ensued from their offer and they stumped up Ł2000 to repair the damage in the end. Just wish my bro would stop his Max Power tendancies as his car is a really nice looking car now .

when i crashed mine i use my green flag cover to recover the car to my home

my insurance automatically sent a guy to collect the car and take it to there storage place without my consent when he turned up i told him to fook off.

I had the valuation and inspection done at my house etc and told them from the start i wanted to keep the car

they took the piss and offered me Ł2400

i ended up canceling my claim and cutting my losses and i bought a new shell

costy me a lot in the long run but glad i didnt buy a minter to start with

Similar story with our Fes mate. We had a call from the slavage company asking to collect the car. They got quite persistant and in the end I blew up and told them they were not collecting the car until a settlement had been agreed with the insurance company as up until then it was still our property

when someone crashed into mine i took it to ford for a quote on damage, got quoted Ł1500.didnt agree so i got my lawyers to send out an engineer who quoted the damage to be Ł2500. got offered Ł1500 plus car back as the car was only minor damage and ford discontinued parts needed.declined first offer and got Ł2100 plus keepin the car to source second hand parts for myself.cut out cars for sale out of fast ford or per ford with same mileage, cond, mods as yours to show price,i had to send cuttins of cars for sale plus photos of mine, could have declined second offer too but cant be too greedy

Oh and Universal Salvage called the bodyshop to arrange collection today and were told to naff off as consent had not been given

Cheers
