Default snap off steering wheels

anyone use one or any experience of them?

cos mine gets left outside my house for long periods of time, enuff for any fookwit to lob a disklok off so im thinking summit slitley more drastic when she aint being driven.

if they are any good the best place to get one? cossymad?

A proper DiscLoc is the bollocks mate and the thieving scum won't get round it in a hurry. Layer your security and you will be as safe as you can be.

I've got a Snap-Off on mine at the minute and it is good but does have a downside that it introduces a small amount of play between the boss and the hub. Now I don't use my car everyday I may well return to a standard boss.

i have one on the escort and i think the disc lock is better etc....

Its o.k outside the house but if you go anywhere, are you going to walk around with a stering wheel with you.

I had a disc lock then a snap off and went back to the disc lock as i thought the snap off was poop due to the "play" in the boss

How safe is the Disklok anyway? I have one on mine, but still wonder how long it'd take a determined pikey to break the hinge and get it off... a small crowbar would have it off pretty quick I think?

I dunno.

Can't say I'd noticed any play on mine, and I'm a picky fooker .

Also, you just 'lock off' the wheel and secure it properly inside the vehicle....

I dont think you'd just break the hinge mate

there is a way of welding plates onto the back of them for additional security though.

I'd get it checked m8

I have a snap off on mine and there is NO play or extra movement only diffence is that the wheel is a small amount closer towards U so when indicating etc u have to stretch your fingers lol to reach the switches lol!

ps U HAVE TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR PEOPLE WALKING AROUND WITH A PIECE OF WOOD WITH 6 ALLEN KEYS BOLTED TO FIT THE BOSS SO THEY CAN STEER UR CAR AWAY

I've been thinking of a snap-off wheel, and figured you could stick the steering wheel in one of those "record bags" you see, or even a laptop bag, wouldn't be too much hassle???

very undecided now, but the idea of a missing steering wheel is appealling to me more, rather than some pikey coont breaking in jus to have a go at the lock and leaving me with a buggered door etc

so if fitted properly i shud see no play, cos im a picky bastid like bill lol

No play in mine neither, also does anyone know where to get the cylinder lock on the wheel, the thing that locks it off.

Need a key or a new one.

Any numbers for Snap-off.

thanks.

Does it not lock so the wheel cannot be put on.

So you can leave the wheel in the car and if someone trys to put it on,they cannot.

i thought it was a safety thing, ie to stop you removing the wheel while driving lol, but to stop a wheel being put on sounds feasable too.

They are a worth while investment, and are very difficult to overcome.
If you read the instructions and look in the box properly, you will find little coach bolts that you snap off in the head of a couple of the allen bolts, ensuring no-one can just unbolt the attachment and slap on a wheel from a sierra/ escort etc.
If you need to remove it, you drill it out....hassle??? Not really it's easy to do, and you will have the time/ equipment to do it. Potential theives may not.

are they universal, as there is one on ebay at the mo.

are they all the same and fit every car, or do you need a different one for each model??

Yes they are universal!
You bolt the boss from your steering wheel to one half and the wheel itself to the other half!
