Heat Wrapping Exhaust
Any benefits?
ill be getting an ashley 4-2-1 and exhaust system which isnt stainless, so i was thinking wrapping it might make it last longer?
ive heard not to wrap their manifolds though, as it helps them crack? (which it will at some point)
thanks

I think you would only get cracking in cars that really heat the exhaust up eg. turbod cars.
Although i'm not so sure about wrapping a non stainless steel exhaust becuase I would imagine damp would get between the heat wrap and exhaust making it rust quicker?

you ll definately benefit from it i heat wraped mine which is a turbo. There are two main benefits one is you take the heat off the fiesta crumpled engine bay and the second is that as the exhaust gases cool down they go slower so keeping the temperature in the exhaust manifold helps the gases to escape better out the manifold
