hi people whats the best engine oil for a S1 escort turbo. Since my mate has done a oil change on his car it smokes every now and then. It was ok before he changed the engine oil.

 

Alright Glenn mate, I use Mobil 1 in my S2 with no probs.

 

It really depends on your application.

Standard bottom end generally 10w40 or if you have a modified bottom end then it is definatley 15w50.

All oils should be fully or semi synthetic.

I would personally reccomend Mobil 1 15w50, fully synthetic.

Smoking could be due to a different viscosity being used which may now be passing oil seal and getting into the combustion chamber. Check for leaks.

Which oil was used?

 

i use silkolene pro s 5w-40 as recommended by oilman on here, message him on www.opieoils.co.uk with ur engine spec etc and he will tell u whats the best oil for your application
