What would people pay for the engine etc?

Its a solid recent rebuild 550bhp engine, CNC head, JE's etc etc? 4k?

Whats the SM4 worth? 1k?

custom exhuast to fit 2wd cars? 1k?

comps? 500?

AP 6 pots? 1k?

Roller bearing T4? 1k?

if im right with these prices they could be up for sale?

personal experience is, you never get what you think they are worth

if you are to sell, try and sell the engine complete and the turbo seperately

to run cosworth as a main car is stupid,they should only be a toy,a car that you spend your overflow cash on after drugs/kids/dogs/rabbit/wife in that order.

Then you will have all the other bits to sell on would be worth a good bit more in bits, but if you do sell it you will just spend the money on a reliable standard car that will bore you in a couple of months.

 

with the current credit crunch i would be supprised if you would get more than Ł500 (english pounds) for the whole lot, but as a fellow PF user, i would be happy to do this for you

Euan i have been in this situation twice first with my escos sold it & bought a flat tried to be sensible once i was settled i got the itch for another car..Scince then i have prob wasted / lost about 40 k in cars & still going with this saph i have now bought thought i was all bye with cars nt hen now im settled in my new house the itch came back.If i had just kept my escort in the first place i would be better off than i am just now.Cause you have to start all over again think carefully about what your doing because the money will burn a hole & before you know it you will have something else & the spending will start.

Euan you will come on here or see one in the street then think i wouldnt mind another stage 3 saph ect then before you know it you will have the bug might take a year or that then your back at the start.you get boared when the house is the way you want it & you have nothing else to do or look forward to.

I agree with what Carlo is saying realisticaly if you get 10K for it you will buy a normal car which will use half the money then get the itch for a track car like Des's so you will only be left with a couple of grand. In the big picture is it worth only getting that back out of god knows how much you have invested in the car.
After this weekend you might get another burst of love for the old cosworth

that is exactly why i wont get rid of my escort! if we get tight it get declared off road,but its still there to tinker with in the garage and when we are more flush i could put her back on the road.
i will never get bored of cars,i get bored if i dont have a nice car to play with
