Need help from Bmw employee please!!!
I know there is 3 or 4 of you on here that might be able to help!!!
I have been offered a 2002 Bmw M3 at a very good price from a guy i know in the trade and needed some help asap as he needs a answer today,i am willing to pay for your trouble. Everything seems ok with the car, average mileage, nice colour/leather combination etc
The problem is,the service book has been lost although i am assured that it has Fsh but i would like to double check,as i am told that the 1200 mile and regular service is essential. If anyone can look it up for me if i supply the infomation it would be appreciated and will also pay for your troubles.
I do not need a printout as i can get that at a later date if all is ok, just confirmation that services have been completed.
regards mark

Should be able to do it from the reg provided it hasnt had plate change as many of these have private plates on them at one time or another, best to have the chassis to hand save phoning twice.

Pm me the reg or the last 7 digits of the chasis number & i will try help you..Sometimes the computer dosnt tell you what the visit was for you would need to contact the selling dealer.
When you buy a m model car the first running in service is included in the price of the car so the selling dealer will have a record of it.
If its had a plate transfer it might not come up on the bmw computer if it has not been updated & i will need the last 7 digits

Thanks for your help Carlo and others, its turning into a strange one!!! I have phoned Bmw service and they have no record of it on their system, and said maybe a import.
I phoned previous owner and he said it had service history fully stamped up by Sitner? Bmw in west midlands,it also has reciepts from them. I phoned Sitner giving them the details and they got the reg plate up but could find no history and said it was import, but registered new in uk
The previous owner said he has seen the running in service completed etc as it has M cars only on it..... Carlo..you have pm

pm'd you back mate sytners should have the history even if the reg dosent come up the chasis number will come up.There is no service record at all for this chasis number logged which is strange & would indicate there is no history at all
nope!
i got VERY confused when checking my x5 at the local bmw garage! gave the reg and she started listing problems with battery drain amongst other things! turned out they only had info on the x5 the reg was on that the couple had before my one!
my one was fine, phew!

Reg numbers can be tricky on the cars history on the bmw computers , if its had a plate change & you dont set the car up properly it can detach its self from the chasis number & you could have 2 records running for the one vehicle.Best to always use the last 7 of the chasis number then there is no confusion

Carl not in this car im afraid as the bmw computer they work with chasis numbers only.Reg numbers is more a dealership thing.2 different computers & systems.I have access to bmw & its showing warranty work only.
Ok, right, sorry im not in work today otherwise i would of been able to help.
BUT
just becaused its not coming up on the IVS or kerridge system does not mean it has no history!
It could of been a Military car, or it could of been a Staff car!
Both of the above reasons mean a car is not traced on the history front. My adice would be, get it HPI'd, and make sure that you scrutinise any receipts he does have!
Sytner, 'should' have the car on their personal database as opposed to national one.
failing that call, the supplying dealer.

It says international & if sytner supplied it from new they should be able to tell you if its had run in service or any other service for that matter.
Quote chasis number only.not sure why they arent being helpfull.

ppl get very confused with bmw computers.
Most dealerships are on kerrige but we cannot check history of other dealperships on our computers the kerrige is not linked.Cars are recorded through ivs, & extranet which we have access to.I can check all warranty history to confirmn mileages ect.or check spec or what recalls are outstanding.
Ivs logs wen cars go in for servicing where the extranet dosent unless its got a service pack.
But this particular M3 isnt coming up at all in vzar or VZ8F (maria will know what this is) but is showing warranty work on extranet like i showed you mark.Thats all i can come up with on this car
