hi guys,

just wondering if i need 2 worry,my car after the re-build seems 2 b running hotter than b4.I have a pace 500 inter-cooler and standard rad. The tempreture on a run is between 88 and 90 but when i stop it reaches 96 and the fans seem 2 have trouble bringing it down until im on the move again. Just wanted 2 know if this usual. Any opinions would b appreciated.

Im running my new engine in at the moment , it will run at a higher temp for the 1st 1000 miles

 

They do tend to run slightly hotter when new, but those temps are nothing to worry about, fans stay on a long time on cossie unless you have the more suitable rad fan switch from msd, which switches on at 92C and off at 88C, whereas the std ones spans a 10C drop, so consequently needs much longer to cool this much more.

I'd keep the standard one in a standard rad mate - just my view. Temps also sound OK to me. Just be sure the fuse is in good nick and maybe replace it once in a while?
