Default Cosworth management question. I del control valve not plugged in?

I've just picked up a Fiesta running Cossie management, but I've noticed the Idle control isn't plugged in? All the conversions I've seen have them plugged in.

That'll be the idle speed control valve.

Just worked that out lol. Seems to Idle fine with it unplugged. The standard ISCV isn't there though. Strange.

You don't need an ISCV for a car to idle properly! In most production cars its there for various things, like anti-stall and cold start, but rarely to control idle!

idle valve might be fucked, plug it in and see what happens....if it doesnt idle, the valve is fucked!

That'd be my guess....only times i've seen them unplugged is when theyre fucked solenoids so the owners/tuners unplug them.

It's mainly for cold start and things like aircon kicking in at idle etc... not really a problem I wouldnt have thought.....and the sensors arent cheap so tend to be left unplugged.

Yeah I plugged it in and it started to idle at 3K rpm. Starts ok from cold with a little throttle, and i mean little. I've driven it around town and its been fine. Driven it home 200 miles and it was fine, and that included starting it from hot at the services so i'm guessing its ok for now. I've turned the heater on full with wipers on and radio playing and it Idled fine so I'm guessing its fine. Just wanted peice of mind for why it was unplugged. Will be getting set up though to make sure. Cheers guys.
