Default another question for clever PC people - burning loads of tracks onto 1 disc

right , i tried burning my matea copy of the MOS mash up cd last nite

i tryed using Ashampoo and was going to do it as a data disc so i could put all 44 mp3s on one disc .

i put the first disc on , then clicked the second disc to put that on the list ............ but instead of the numbers going 1-21 and then 1-21 , it put them on the list 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7 and so on ????

i then tried iit on windows player 11 and it listed them one disc after another , but when we put it in the stereo it had done the same 1,1,2,2,3,3, and so on ????

i looked for options on the Ashampoo one but cant find a way of leaving it how i put it on ??

is there a better program to download or am i just being thick lol

Change the second cd track numbers to 22 to 43

thats not a bad idea .

but i was gonna out the basshunter album on aswell so id have to change them numbers aswell .

is there a better prog i could use that wouldnt shift all the numbers together ?

it reads the track numbers through the tags (right click on the mp3 file and select properties) hence you have 2 cds, so 2 track 1's, 2 track 2's etc etc.

Are you making an mp3 cd ? or just a normal cd ?

If you use Nero there's an option to copy cd, put the original in, then it will prompt to insert a blank, job done

i was trying to do a mp3 i think ? or data disk my mate said ?

instead of it putting only 80 mins on i was putting on upto 700mb ? so i guess its mp3 disc ?

Sounds like an mp3 cd. The way i suggested is probably the easiest tbh. Just name the third cd after the other ones and it will play in order.


Or you could burn the folders on there instead. so a folder for each disk. that way you can search through them on the stereo.

WMP works with ID3 tags, CD players and burners don't.

ID3 tages are tags that group stuff using album artist, album title and track title. So in WMP, it will group all tracks by artist first, then album title, then track title for that album.

To make a comp CD list tracks in regular order, you need to manually enter the order you want, either by re-arranging the tracks in the burn list, or by enumerating them to how you want and burning using track order. As said, you can rename the tracks 01, 02 ,03, 04...... 10, 11, 12......20, 21, 22, etc. If the tracks go into the hundreds you need to rename previous tracks to 001, 002, 003, etc up to 100, 101, 102, etc
