Im hoping his not banned cause his done anything wrong as there seems to be a glitch in the PassionFord site where all of a sudden he could see posts in the ladies room.

Curosity got the best of him, which 99% would be guilty of and he went in for a little butchers. Now his banned cause he was given access?

Do you know what the problem was and I bet he wasn't the only one who was allowed access.

I banned his access until ADMIN ie: Stu could check his account - simple. I gave the smallest ban of 24hrs and posted in the moderators room for Stu to sort out because as Moderators we do not have ADMIN powers to check access issues. I assumed as Stu was online he would sort it as soon as he had a chance to so chill out. Not as if it's gonna kill him for not having pf access for a couple of hours is it?

 

WRONG - As a mod I cannot see anything in the ladies room. If he had access to the ladies room then it's my duty as a MOD to remove the access he has to view it. The only way I can do this is to suspend his access (ban) him as a whole. I cannot give or revoke gold memberships or suspend any specific forum access.

If there is a glitch then i'm sure Stu or IBAdmin will sort it.

I think it is wrong to ban someone from a whole site (that he has paid to access) because the system or an operator seemingly allowed him access to an area that it shouldn't.

Instead of banning him, I'd have temporarily closed the ladies area because it's their stuff that is to be kept private, so they are the ones with an interest in getting the issue sorted.

 

i understand why you did it, but imho it was the wrong decision.

a ban is quite a big deal and shoud never be placed upon a user who has not broken the rules.

even he he could see that he had access to the ladies room, a little bit of self discipline could of been used as he knows he shouldnt be viewing it... regardless of whether he was able to or not!

we all agree it was a difficult posission you were in, however you still banned a user that hadn't really done anything wrong so you wil have to accept that people will question that decision.
