Anyone know the benefits of having a single coil pack (from say 2 litre Focus) on an RS 2k.
If benefical is there a guide on how to do it as i suppose its not just a matter of replacing the 2 coil packs with one and sticking in new leads.
Cheers

There would be no benefit as the coilpack is simply two coils in one unit, just not seperated like yours, would likely be the same guts inside, but easy to do with a simple bit of wiring if needed.

Some people do it because they think the two coil packs ontop of the engine could eb damaged by heat, i don't agree, i drove the life out of my old Rs 2000 for 3 years and NEVER had any problems.
Saying that the Maxi kit cars ran a zetec type coilpack...
Could be an idea if your coils go faulty though as replacemnt Rs 2000 ones are far more expensive than the zetec type.

most of the problems with the RS2000 arnt caused by the coilpacks themselves but the wiring going to them breaking down, i was gonna put a zetec one on my RS2000 but i never got round to it and it runs fine so dont see the need
