Default 1.6 CVH Oil Pump - Ford or Burtons?

Just taken oil pump off which is one of Burtons High Pressure ones, although reading up they dont have a very good reputation. Now mine has been fine never had an oil pressure probs but im sceptical about putting another one on and temped to just splash out and get a genuine ford one even though they are double the price.

Has anyone had any experience cause i would rather not have to pay £130 on a new Ford one if i dont have to

Never used a Burton pump myself, my engine is too valuable to be killed by a poor quality pump. Sure, any part can fail but I have heard too many bad things about Burton pumps to risk it. Oil pressure is fine on mine with the Ford one, 1.8bar at idle when up to working temp, bloody good for a CVH.

that is good pressure

genuine ford for me all the way , same as the headgaskets ford cvh gasket is the best on the market imo. i ve only ever used ford stuff, its not cheap but its cheaper than a new engine

i used pirate parts down here but only from reputable suppliers , some of the chinese shit is just that SHITE!!! never had any issues. i up the pressure by inserting a 10mm spacer in front of the grub screw that screws the oil pressure spring in further. i run about 4 bar pressure when cold on full synthetic oil and about 1.2 bar at idle when warm
