this womans got 8 kids and was using her friends and nieghbours credit cards to do a total of about £650 worth of shopping for food
the judge has jailed her for 5 months and sent the kids into care

there are probably other sites which will also give you the same sort of story but what do you think?

my take on it is that she shouldn't have done the crime if she couldn't do the time

 

she shouldn't have dont the crime maybe so but i also dont think she should have got 5 months in jail just for trying to feed her kids, people have done alot worse and not got bangd up in the joint

 

she wont be the innocent party shes made out to be.a robin hood type character robbing from the rich to feed the poor. using several stolen credit cards? not just one.
sentence maybe a bit harsh considering people that jump on peoples heads etc get community service and such like.

 

just to add to the cant do the time dont do the crime thought. thats the sort of sentences needed to deter such crime. if she'd have thought shed go to jail im sure she would have found some other legal way to feed her kids.
if only other judges could be a bit harsher in sentencing the country wouldnt be such a fucking mess

What the fuck did she do with other money she must've had, i.e benefits or wages??? Surely the FIRST thing you'd do is buy food, irregardless is she was skint afterwards, and then worry about the bills.

she's had previous for assualt it looks like

and she was getting pinched for something else when she told her kids to get rid of her hand bag, which containted 14 stolen bits of plastic

so not your normal sort of "robin hood" type

and then they've thrown in the "stressed by her previous partner" angle for more pity, but fail to elaborate on it

and that she had had a stressfull pregnancy for her last child, who is now a year old

in a previous story where peole have had loads of kids, the figures complied as to what sorts of benifits the lady in question was on were around the £36k a year mark, but i'm not sure if that included the hosuing and council tax benifits into the equation

there is also the fact that she was getting about £100 a week disabaled care allowance for looking after her disabled kid

plus she's apparently got a few grown up kids too

so the question shouldn't be "should she had been sent to clink" the questions hsould be "whee has the money she's been getting gone to?"

a lot of lilly livered liberals have expressed the onion that she might have been living on the bread line and it was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak, the boiler packing up, kids breaking their clothes, etc, but if she's living in a council flat then the council woill have sorted the big things out for her withut it cosing her a penny

i know a lot of people who strugle to survive on benifits, bt this isn't about them, it's about this particular woman who's been done for credit card fraud

and it may not even be as simple as that, these might have only been the charges for the cards she had on her, what baout any others she might have used in the past?

and how the fuck can you spend £350 on shopping on e day and another £250 on shopping later on the same day?!?!?!!?!?

Way I see it;

1st crime was using other peoples credit cards without consent. This is fraud.

2nd, and FAR more important crime, IMO, is having kids, and too many kids, that she can't provide for. That is completely unforgivable and should incur a LONGER prison sentence IMO. What if she hadn't been able to pull off the fraud? Then she'd have 8 kids dying of malnutrition.

Simple moral of the story is : if you can't provide for kids, then don't have them. It's cruel, irresponsible and stupid. Simple.
