tried it with some throttle loads of times.
boost pipes seem ok.
tried the paddle thing before, it seems pressurised, you can hear it pumping (petrol?) through the pipes when its pushed, then after 3 or 4 pushes it goes limp. got the wiper motor earth
already done all of it, but still no joy. hence why i'm stuck!
i've got no wipers though, so i'm taking the clocks out tomoz and having a loosky behind the dash to check the earths there.

i've got a push on nipple on the oil filter, a blue one on the fuel rail, a yellow one on the back of the inlet, and a black one on what looks like a thermostat towards the offside.
sounds like your pressing the metering flap after youve tried cranking it.
so there will be pressure, but as u pump the fuel into the injectors by pushing the flap down, the pressure will drop.
get someone to crank it over, and gently and very marginally i.e. 4mm from shut, push the flap down and see what happens.
is your fuel pump going when cranking? it might prime, but might not be pumping when your cranking it over (dodgy fuel relay)
any air leak whatesoever (i.e. fucked d.v) might hamper it starting.
it could be something like timing, idle mixture, fuel pressure (needs to be allot on mfi!) air leak, plugs fouled (take them out, wire brush or even replace with NGK BCR 8ES gapped to 25thou) plugs round the right way on dizzy, hall sensor 'ok' not cable tied bodge?
few things to try....
check the fuses in the fuse box, especially the 'heated seat' fuse as its for the fuel injection.

thanks for that, i seem to be missing the brown plug from them pics, i really dont remember seeing it
although thats probably bollocks.
yeah i was pressing the metering unit after cranking. just because..... i didn't think it had anything to do with the fuel pressure or such.
not 100% on the fuel pump going whilst cranking, its too noisy to hear from inside. but you can hear it for 2/3 secs after the engine stops cranking
i cant rule out an air leak yet.
timing hasn't changed, fuel pressure is good (i had a leak to start with and it was spraying out from a banjo bolt and clearing the scuttle panel
checked plugs and leads. whats a hall sensor
although i dont recall anythig being cable tied or i would've asked sooner and sorted it.
