No MOT
what happens if you get caught with no MOT? i havent got the money to put mine through for a couple of weeks and its probably going to fail on a few things.. has anyone ever been done for this?
As it would fail on things isn't roadworthy either, so silly question really.
I don't think no mot is biggest deal in world if car if car is fully roadworthy, as an mot is not be all and end all as an indication of roadworthiness.
Doesn't void insurance no mot either.

you get fined for not being able to produce the documents if given a producer and have recently seen a fine for £60 with £50 court costs... some insurers will not cover you in an accident especially if your fault but esure said it made no difference.. unless the car was written off they would pay out as little as half the value of the car..
if me or my missus was hit by a car and it wasnt our fault and it turned out the person had no mot which resulted in no insurance payout they would be due a hefty beatin i think its daft to even think about driving a car with no mot for your own safety and others.
if you think your car is gonna fail well it aint fit for the road and to drive it with no mot because you have no money is a bit selfish and very lazy

i believe it's not just to and from a prebooked MOT... think you can drive it to an appointment for repairs for the MOT too.
other than that, i'm pretty sure your insurance will be invalid as well.
as said.... get the bus!
u will be fined, car will be siezed, you will then have to pay a holding & release fee - don t expect much change from £400 - you'll then have to get it Trailored away cost they wont let you drive it.........fail to pay the above and your car will be crushed.
thanks for the replys, id been told by some people it was points and others said just a fine so i just wanted your feedback. Girlfriends parents have given us an old shogun for now so problem sorted. the car isnt worth another mot so its time to say bye
it doesnt. my work partner wrote of his evo8 and discovered his first mot had been due 3 months previously. full insurance payout minus the cost of an mot test. £14000-£50 payout.
someone once saying doesnt make it true as has been proved time and time again by all the internet "experts"

or get a bike or walk. If u cant afford an mot, you shouldnt have a car.
get off ur arse and go earn some money instead of asking stupid questions on a forum and winding a lot of people up!
Im sure u have the money really, more like u need to get ur priorities straight. You have internet access, so cant be that bad off!

fair enough mate i was only asking
only have internet at work which is where i am now and why i havent replied since i posted the queston
and how am i winding people up i asked a question
thats why.
A lot of people pay megga money to keep their cars on the road and legal. So a question like that is a bit annoying.
When i had the cossie, insurance for my 3 cars for the year was £3200. then some bright spark comes on here and wondering if he can scrimp on £40.
Anyway im glad you now have a shogan to play with untill u sort your self out.
ok i'll hold my hands up it looks dodgy, wasnt a case of just leaving it which is why ive done my best to get another car. i just wanted to know because ive been told a few different things.
thanks for the replys
thanks for the replys
an MOT is only an indication of condition of the vehicle at the time of testing
you could get pulled up after passing an MOT & the police could find something not covered on the MOT & do you for a moving violation
police law & vosa law are 2 totally separate things
still if its ran out dont use the car
