Get a netgear mate, ive recently looked into routers after having a USB modem for 4-5 years, first i got a BT home hub which was useless in every sense of the word, then i spent abit more and got this other one (Dynamode) its called, looks like a netgear with a stubby ariel, that has worked spot on now for 4 days
Id have got a netgear but my mate who owns the pc shop said the one ive got now is very reliable so i got that, but id get a netgear mate, cant go wrong.

If you get that one in my link(or any infact), dont install the software that comes with the cd, you dont need it, just unplug your current modem and wire the router up and then go into the routers settings page and enter your broadband login details, job done no software needed

The black one is supposed to be better, it's the updated version. You can get a software update for the white one, which I did, and mine is spot on.

the netgear and sagem ones are both black

i have both. they sent me a sagem, i rang up and said it wasnt working properly with VPN (made up, but just wanted the netgear... lol) so they send me a netgear one too.

to be honest i can find no differnce in performance and features and 99.9% of you wont either.

VW_08, sky supply you with THEIR router which you must use, you don't buy your own. theyre repackaged netgear (2 types) and sagem modems

i've got the white one for my sky
and a tidly black one for the orange
i originally had a tall silver one which fucked up, so they sent me the little black one
then i had a moan about their prices and they sent me a bit a4 sized white thing, livebox i think it's called? which their bumpf said would take up to 10 days to start working properly
so i fucked that off and plugged teh old modem back in again and saw that i was getting from my old 2.2 connection to the new one which was 6.soemthing (it fluctuates betwen .3 and .7 from day to day)
then they said they were cutting off my free voicemail on the livebox, which i wasn't using anyway

I got a white netgear.

Does anyone know the username and password set from the factory to access the router settings?
