A customer had his spoiler sprayed the other day and the Sprayer said the bubbles was due to the aluminium strips the the screw go into reacting with the steel screws.

Do you think he's right?

mine never had any bubbles in them....maybe it was the early shonky BT transit stylee mirrored models that suffered with this.

I think its the fact the BT is so much faster than the tiny turbo the paint is having a hard time staying on

my theory on it is the skin is too thin and the air bubbles break through esp as it seems to get worst once people rub them down and respray them.

Lucky for me I've never had this problem with my Monte

Dan you at Nat day? gonna need a set of engine mounts for the Fiesta (descided on normal not competition)

A lot of cars were recalled and spoilers replaced because of the problem so they would have been orig paint.

His has bubbled where the strips would be and so has mine fuck it anyway paints worse elsewhere so big stickers are on order

Yep will be there rain or shine

I was told that it was FA to do with the paint, it was the material the BT spoilers were made of. Obviously this was remedied with the ST models (as was everything else that was wrong with BT).

thats similar to i was told years ago by a guy who used to paint the ones that went back to the local Ford dealer, air gets through the spoiler & trapped under the paint, he used to rub all the paint/primer off, seal them up with a special primer then repaint them.
