I was getting quotes of around £2200 for an escort cossie last year. 23 5 years no claims
And around £1600 for a saff.
Guess its because of where we live.
They don't seem to stay around very long if you leave them on your drive way
£892, 24 years old, 1 year NCB on this policy (more on other car) 3 door with £10k agreed value and all mods declared. It is on a 3k mileage limit and is a garaged 2nd car, and I don't live in Beiruit
I'm 28 with 10 yrs NCB and I pay £170 for a 1300 escort.
Balls to that, I might as well spend the extra £40 and get a cossie.
Garaged 2nd car on low mileage limit I would have thought. Surprisingly mine was cheaper as it has better brakes, suspension and more power "as it will get me out of trouble!"
Seriously anyone with a modified car should call Greenlight first.

Im 30 with full no claims, no convictions, limited mileage on a 4x4 Saff Cossie, just over 500 quid, with Greenlight.
Cant say enough good things about them, any problems have been dealt with super quick and when you ring you get an English person on the phone not a call centre in Banglidesh!
May be worth trying RAC online, then ring them and ask for a better deal.. especially if you do low'ish mileage and have a partner.
I got me (31) and mrs (28) insured with the RAC for £420 fully comp on our Impreza turbo (I know it's not a cossie lol but all other quotes were silly) It's 6k miles limited but she just pootles around occasionally in it (as we've just had a nipper) It was £480 online and I rang up and got a sound bloke, asked for a sunday special price and he got it down to £420 and threw in a years rac breakdown cover!
It might be worth a try. Her current insurance company wanted £700 TPFT on the same car for both of us.
The RAC insurance is the 1st cheap insurance I've experienced in my life and I'm sure they're a decent enough company (hopes)
Also, maybe some of you guys can get classic insurance on cossies now?
I got mine on my traders policy but got a quote just to see how much Id pay the other night.
25, 4 years ncd, 4500 miles per year, valued at £6k, fitted with cat 1 security and parked on my driveway. £302 fully comp with £50 excess. Car is a 2wd Sapph on an E plate.

Good price that bud, ive got traders aswell but like having the cossy on its own policy.
you can't consider driving a 400+bhp coffin with wheels responsible now can you.
it's kinda like holding scisors with the pointy end facing forwards
Its not about the power and the shiny bits making it capable......Its how you drive it. You should see me out on a Sunday morning going 30 mph to collect the papers with the wind in my hair.
The youth of today sterotyping responsible adults like me!
Youve got a "Look at me" M3 but you dont see me telling everyone your a builder thats done alright with a few cash jobs!!!
