Bit of a dilema.......My own stupid fault
Right peeps......What do you think to this.
I have a P Plate Audi A4 and the steering wheel was a little worn on the top, and it was the plain black style one. So i went on E-Bay and got myself the newer looking one with the chrome rings in the middle of it. Also has the airbag in it like the OE one does so thats all good.
NOW
I went to fit the new one yesterday...........This is where the trouble started
Disconnected the battery ect to de-activate the airbag.
Then started removing the standard wheel........ Now while removing it i broke a couple of wires and i thought not to worry i will sort it when the new wheel goes on. THEN this coiled up reel sprung apart
But as the new wheel was going on i thought not to worry!!!!!!!!!!!
HOWEVER......
Once the OE wheel was off i went to fit the new one that was taken off an R Plate Audi A4..............But the spline that holds the wheel on was smaller.......SO ITS A NO GOER!!!!!!!
Tried to refit the OE wheel back on without the rolled up coil......which i did.
Now i have the OE wheel back on.....BUT
The airbag light is on so it must of been one of the wires that snapped...
And i have no horn......that must of been the coil

NOW do i to the very imbarresing thing and take it to the local VW/Audi specalists and explain what i have done and see if they can sort it.......
OR
Live with no Airbag or horn............And i am someone who NEEDS a horn

Having both dead leaves you totally exposed
.
Take the bulb out of the airbag light. Its not like they'll test its operation at the MOT.
As for the horn, all you need is some kind of audible warning.
Tie wrap one of these bad boys to your a post and leave the window open.

Giving stuff to ex's is always good. If shes anything like mine I'd replace the brake fluid with piss and keep 12 of the wheelnuts.
