Default Oil for Escort RST

Fairly simple one this!

Do you have to use special oil for an RST? or can my mate just go to Halfords or wherever and get some cheaper stuff?

Its a standard lump still on MFI, nothing special. Any help appreciated!

HOW MUCH! i need to do mine this weekend after an "accident" with the turbo return pipe

surely theres a cheaper alternative? i dont think i can justify that on an oil change at the moment

Yes thats the stuff and yes it is very expensive!! Millers or Silkolene is also about that price, any 3 Ester oil will be but it's what we need to keep our engine sweet!

I use this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silkolene-Pro-...1%7C240%3A1318 it's a 10w instead of a 15w but all that means is that it can go down to -20C instead of -15C which isnt a bad thing with the weather we have been having!

cheers for that, not being funny, but this oil change will have to last me well into the summer. i've had about 2 weeks work since christmas, on and off and things are gonna get worse. i might have to slum it out abit, and use whats to hand for now. i used mobil 1 stuff before, i cant remember the exact one and that was about 36 quid. that was beofre i dropped my turbo engine in though. damm cars are SO expensive to maintain, god knows what it'd be like with some thing really valuable <-- real tears on this one
