Exclamation Re Black intercooler thread

After everyone saying yes to having the ic black on the ibiza, i do just want to clarify a few things

Will it being black affect the temperature of air going into it, as someone has kindly pointed out it will absorb the heat more than silver one would, therefore increasing the temp of the air going through it?

I dont see a problem with a very light coating, its not gonna be dipped in paint after all.

Would painting the intercooler damage it in anyway shape or form?

Which paint if any would be best to give it a good coverage without having to cake it on?

thanks

Sarah

Black transfers heat better, so theoretically it should work better....

Regardless of the colour of the outside of your cooler - the inside is still silver

Color of the intercooler does not make a difference. The paint used however/and the thickness could work as isolation. Thus poorer heattransfer.. However i doubt that it would noticable difference on an intercooler
