I feel they missed an opportunity here, they could have gone full 'double-wishbone' had they relocated the strut and not used it as a cheap way to locate the hub.

so all they've done is basicly made the hub sit taller by offsetting the location of the strut further inboard?

i'm sure it's more complicated than that but that's al i see, plus a lot more to go wrong althgouh the additional ball jint at the top should stop this from being a problem

Double wishbone setup would have very short wishbones due to packaging restrictions which would result in undesireable dynamic geometry....
