on my last 3 actual modififed to lots cars?

over teh past 15 years about £74k
the estate owes me about £40k
the saph owed me about £15k
the 3 door owed me about £19k

tha'ts nor including the cars i've had inbetween, the twinkly i did lots of cheap mods to which should have cost me about £5k but i think i've sorted it with freebies from loads of places for about £500
and the mondeo already owes me about £5k on a car that i said i wouldn't touch

so overall i'd say about £100k spunked on motors in the past 15 years or so, and that's not including the initial purchase prices that'd add at least another £25k to that

Let me think...
Purchase = £270
Rear bearing = £11
Tax= £120 iirc

Err.. thats it so far.. Not even done an MOT yet.
I have repaired my backbox with GRP but I had some of that anyway.

The moggy cost me about 2-2.5k in total before I gave it up as a bad job.

Most cars I do seem to end up costing me about 20K ish, even my 3 door is up to that sort of region, and the nova has probably past it now.

Perfectly possible to have fun for a couple of K though

Cost 4k and i must of spend at least the same again maintaining and upgrading

Current car i just bought a few months back. Audi s6 for £6500 and i spent £1500 on a service and fixing all faults no matter how small so £8k. Not envisiging any major problem or spending any more as shes spot on.

A very understanding wife, met her at a car show in 1981.

She always attends ever show with me, and has just let me spend 10k extending the garage and pinching half her utility room !!!!!

It must be love.

my old 24v Saph cost me...

...wait for it...

THIRTY THOUSAND POUNDS

sold it for £1500

just think of the nice porsche i'd be driving now if i didnt waste money on cars... lol

the BMW owes me about 5-6k ontop of buying it, not bad considering that includes servicing+consumables and it's had a replacement engine. probably about 1k in "mods" on there

considering im just about to start my s2 cossie poewerd build,

im not expecting change out of 18 k

just having a quick sit down and pricing parts get up around 12 - 14 k

then theres dyno - mapping time , and all the other factors people forget when building a car ,

my series two was bought for 2300

spent around 2500 on it in a year and a half ( engines mainly )

sold it for 3k when it went ,

beef

Who's had the most fun?

When you sell it, who will have the best memories.
A cars never a long term invest, me like most people here spend a lot on there car's. But i for sure don't miss out on nights out etc to spend money on my car. There was a point where i did but for sure don't now.

absolutly fuck all since buying the car and the wheels !
unless you include servicing costs . which would probably be less than a grand in 2 years.
i might dislike the germans but they know how to build cars .

About £25K over the past 9 years on my Escort Cossie. It soon adds up when rebuilding engines, big tooth boxes, big brakes, poly bushing, new TCA's etc. etc. are taken into account.

by WASTING money and buying all the same things over and over again. also that includes labour as well as parts. probably only about 6k worth of parts on that car.

examples of money wasted

£1200 for respray, then £800 to respray again after accident (didnt need a respray anyway!)
£600 on brand new esccos wheels after getting the old ones refurbed anyway!
4 SETS of tyres @ 400 each! (kepts getting punctures!!!!!!)
about 1k to have the standard gearbox rebuilt when it didnt really need it
about 1k on getting standard ECU/loom working then another 2k getting emerald afterwards
1k on havign two different exahusts made up (didnt like the first one... lol)
1k on two different sets of suspension (didnt like the first one)
about 1k on three different sets of brakes!

as you can see, lots of money WASTED, and it all adds up rather quick!!!! especially when youre paying others to do all the work in dribs and drabs

could have broken the car for about 5k i recon, so still nowhere near what was spent on it

you see why i love the M3 so bloody much now eh? (altho the M3 is currently in the garage getting fixed AGAIN... rofl)
