Default Insurance Quote..

Me and my mate have just rebuilt his escort cossie from a bare shell. And he's now in the process of running it in..

For a laugh i thought i'd do an insurance quote on it to see how bad the companies would want to basically steal from me..

Now, I'm 23, and i had an accident around 3 years ago, worth £1400.. which i obviously declare..

As a comparison, i now drive a regular 1.6 16v mk4 golf, which costs 650 fully comp a year, with 2 years NCB.. (alot i know)

Now for all intents and purposes, i said the car was valued at £17k.

Best quote, TPFT..

£1800!

To me, thats bloody cheap?

Especially as i know a guy of 19 who pays over 3 grand for a fiesta turbo

Does this sound right to you guys?

the mileage was 12k per year and the voulantery excess would have been about 300ish, can't be bothered to load it up again to double check.

think thats used to be the way georgie

but with less old cars on the road and the average pices of used cars being up , i htink the insurance companies will sway more on the 5 k limit ,

like valcar said its predomantly on the milage and excess
