Default Camshaft problems

Hi!

When i bought my rst, the head was rattling. I thought cam & tappets were worn.
I changed high power oilpump, brand new boxed cvh 35 kit & tappets and timed it properly, naturally fresh oil & filter. I did properly "burn in" to cam and give it 2500rpm revs about 20min.
So the thing, now driven 300-400km and head makes noise again badly.

Is there some oil routes or something that can be clogged? I now if i change camshaft & tappets again they wont last long.

I had 3-4 years ago rs turbo also,
I did rebuilt my ex rs turbo engine totally, so the head was properly cleaned at the part cleaner wash machine, new cam+tappets and no problems at all..
Should i take head off and properly clean it or what.

Ideas? Thanks for advance..

Once again, it's the Kent cam thats your problem. They are made from Toffee.

I cant believe that, my ex rst had kent set and it did the job well.
I believe there is problem with cam lubrication, but i think i have to take the head off and take to parts if i want to figure out what is the problem.

There is an inherent problem with CVH's and cam lubrication, yours is no different.

However, Kent have most probably in recent years chosen to outsource the cam blanks and followers from, how can I say, sources that are more geared towards cost than quality.

Take it out and have a look before going any further. There's no point in spending lots of time thinking about other problems, when the problem is most likely that the cam has gone Emo and chosen the 'self-harm' route in life.

Okay.. very well, if i will take head off and check it and clean it properly in winter season.
How about piper cams T2 would it bee good? I am aiming about 200-230hp power or do you prefer standard cam+lifter set ..
Ebay has some about 100£+postage about 30£ to FI..
No one knows how much cam+lifters would cost from Ford? =)

Last time I asked for a EFI cam from Ford it was around 170€ without followers. Followers were 8€ each from Motonet if I recall correctly.
