Because you have to get a torch in there to make all the welds is what Ricky is getting at i expect.
What you do Ricky is tack it all up and then break off each individual runner and weld. That way the only welds you have to be able to get at are tthe flange welds.

Australian kit car with supercharged S2000 engine
FN2 civic type r rad (supercharged)
and my S2 lol with custom plenum/boost pipes/rad

There's a fella in America called Dominic who makes the most incredible stuff for the Focus and for the Zetec. The welding is just amazing.

Davie would be the guy to answer that as haven been near there in years , but last time I talked to Tom he was on his own.
That system above was done a few years ago but was then scrapped, when Scott changed tuners I think.
