Any reason it's all tacked together first? Surely that makes the job much harder?

I'm making a manifold at the minute, It's got to be really hard to get into certain places and i'd expect some warping issues.

Why would it make it harder?

I don't know either, not my manifold!

Because you have to get a torch in there to make all the welds is what Ricky is getting at i expect.

What you do Ricky is tack it all up and then break off each individual runner and weld. That way the only welds you have to be able to get at are tthe flange welds.

Subaru exhaust & Manifolds, had a GT42R sat where the std IC was. 3 pipe exhaust was to flow 750ish bhp and keep it as high off the ground as possible. Twin 3" and single 2.5"

There's a fella in America called Dominic who makes the most incredible stuff for the Focus and for the Zetec. The welding is just amazing.

He doesn't have a website but this is a link to his Flickr account...check out page 17 onwards.

Davie would be the guy to answer that as haven been near there in years , but last time I talked to Tom he was on his own.

That system above was done a few years ago but was then scrapped, when Scott changed tuners I think.
