someone once told me you cant be caught speeding going through a camara with the camara facing you,is this true

 

depend where the lines were on the road if ur side then u can get done

Its tosh!

A gatso can do you both ways but they are a bit primitive, so lines are needed for an accurate speed. Some only nick you head on so they can get a mugshot (truevelo etc). Specs average speed cameras are head on only.

 

As far as I am aware GATSO's do not work with a vehicle heading directly towards them.

The lines are only on both sides so that it makes calculating speed easier should the offending vehicle be overtaking at the time. e.g a motorbike.

It won't have been a Gatso. Truvelo cameras look similar, but have round lenses and they get you head on.



Gatso's only get you from the rear. They CAN flash you going in the wrong direction, but are only Home office approved to catch speeders on the same side of the road at them.

i got flashed off a gatso heading towards it and never heard anything of the law .

 

Go back and 'fix' it

certain motorways ones can catch you as i found out on the way to essex, driver on the opposite lane got flashed

 

i didnt realize they can defer between a car and a van!!!!

 

i got flashed going towards a gatso and never got a ticket
