hello all

Just done a search prior to posting this and there seems to be lots of different answers to the question across the range of sierra sapphire and the escorts.

Basically i thought i'd take the car out for an hour today and never noticed that the pump didnt buzz like usual and prime when i first started it up. I only knew something wasnt right when i noticed the abs orange light and handbrake cable light were both on, whilst slowly driving along i put handbrake on and off just incase and the lights didnt go off, i was only doing 20-30mph when i needed to brake round a tight bend and the pedal was rock hard with hardly any brakes, luckily i was half a mile from home so i turned around and got it home safely, but on reading other threads it could be fuses, ive checked the 3 in the boot and theyre ok and the 3 in the glove box which are also ok so my question is what could it be now?????

Im getting a new abs pump next week just incase its this but what else can i check before wednesday and if it is the pump are they easy to change?
