as above .. if i unbolt cable off side of box will oil go everywhere?? do you test it with a drill attatched ????

 

if its just the cable your taking off the gearbox, then no oil will come out...if you take the speedo drive out then yes oil will come out.

a drill should test the cable ok.

 

as above, if you take the speedo drive out then yes, oil will piss out; but where is a clip which fits inside the drive that hold the drive in, pinch it together with a suitable tool and that will allow you to pull the speedo cable out

 

If you jack up the car(rear) they do not lose much, this is how I did it.

thanks all ...i took the speedo drive out then removed it from cable tested with drill and worked fine put it all back together ,just been down the road in in and the speedo and mileometer work now !!!!!!!! whats all that about just hope it lasts now
