Default RS Turbo (S1) racing gearbox

Hello,

First of all cheers for everybody as I´m new here.

I have a gearbox which I believe is from Ford Escort Mk3 RS Turbo S1 (circuit) racing car. It is a 5-speed dog engagement gearbox with viscous LSD. Originally it has a cable clutch.

Now the gearbox is broken and I´m very keen to have some information about it. Manufacturer? Model?

Here is some pictures of gearbox to be identified:

Nice! That is same gearbox The gear linkage in my gearbox is "home-made" because there was no linkage when I bought it. Do you have pictures of the linkage?

Yes, I have one extra CWP (~4.2:1) and one viscous LSD (no oil). And in Finland we have manufacturer which make gears for that gearbox. And those are left-overs....

Actually everything inside is OK but the bellhousing (shown in pictures) is broken. Do you know any place where to get one of those? I´m also interested other (spare)parts..

no sorry, i could of helped with gears but i do not know of any spare bell housings

no pictures of my linkage yet, mine is home made and im not liking it. i will get a quaife set up for it when funds allow. i will get a pic of my linkage in the morning when implaying with car

you are the 4th person i know with one of these boxes

i think they was used in both circuit and rallying

the shafts will need to be made for this as mine are alot bigger gearbox end and then use standard hubs

Actually gearbox is now in different car so the front mount and starter location are different.

Here is picture of hyd clutch conversion. It´s first version and now the bearing is different.

Which LSD do you have? Mine has Gemini (plate type) LSD and it´s originally from VW. So I use VW inner joints (OD 110mm).

I believe also that the stamp is from Gordon Spooner. Maybe the gearbox has been serviced / repaired there in the past.

I hope that there is some other way to fix my gearbox than buying that car. Because that car is very nice piece of rallying history. So it should be kept in on piece.

It´s from V70 (petrol engine) year 2002. But there is similar cylinders in various Volvos..

It needs only little machine work inside housing to fit it. Oh, and you need base plate for it. Here is a foto of it...
