Folks, as anyone got the OLD style backbox laying around, or one for sale, 4" prefered, i've dented mine and need a replacement, but prefer it to be the older rounded backbox rather than the oval new style which mine is..must be in GOOD condition, oh and i'm not buying a new one they're TO exspensive...

That one in the E-Bay link is a Scorpion.

Scorpions have the small round back box,and bigger middle box,as far as I know Mongoose have the bullet style smaller centre box and the big oval shaped back box.

Make sure it's got the large diameter baffles..............all the way through the silencer. Just look up the tail pipe to check that it's large bore all the way. Magnex were, but not all the other brands...........For that bhp, it MUST have a large diameter internal bore......Not just the tail pipe bit, otherwise you just strangle the engine. If you looked at the original Magnex that was on there, this was the LARGE bore exhaust.....4" all the way through to manifold. Alot of the other brands have a 4" tail pipe, and 4" bore exhaust pipe, but then it all goes pear shaped in the rear silencer/rear silence box when the diameter within the box is only 2"....... ! ! ! ! ! ! One of the reasons that she originally had a magnex system on there.

Mongoose are the same size inside the silencer as the pipes going in/out,Scorpion have got the smaller bore internal silencers.
Thought Magnex was twin pipe right to downpipe,or is that what you mean,2x 2inch pipes=4 inch to manifold???????

 

Yep.......Scorpion were the ones that could be restrictive on BIG BHP cars.
